One question that we are asked on a regular basis is “do we have and Sockets and Light Switches that are larger than the standard white plastic plates

A problem that regularly occurs when replacing your old switches for new ones is that you are often left with crumbling or chipped plaster around the edges, usually from paint that has adhered itself to the underside of the old switch.

On a wallpapered wall you often see small tears or rips around the edges once you’ve removed the old switch or on occasions, you find that the wall has been papered to the edge of the switch plate rather than letting the wallpaper run under the switch.

Most decorative light switch plates that you find today are usually between 84mm – 86mm high or square in the case of a single sized plate and between 145mm – 147mm wide on a Twin Plug Socket.

We have listed here a selection of larger than standard plate sizes that solves the problems referred to above. These plates are sized between 92mm to 95mm square on a single plate and between 148mm to 155mm wide on a Twin Plug Socket and these plates will overlap any minor damage that remains visible once the old plate is removed.

All of these larger plates will fit onto your existing standard wall boxes so no need to disrupt your decorated wall even further.
